Over the last two decades. Courtney represented maritime and trucking companies, as well as individual drivers, in the defense of commercial, personal injury, and insurance litigation. With more than half of her caseload in federal court, Courtney’s practice emphasized not only aggressive initial responsive pleadings and dispositive motions, but also a more considered approach to pretrial motions. Courtney has also focused a lot of her practice on defending 30(b)(6) and other corporate representative depositions to more fully support dispositive and pretrial motions.
Prior to joining Klein Thomas Lee & Fresard as Counsel in the Class Action practice group., Courtney was a partner at Franke Schultz, and Mullen and as Assistant County Counsel in the Office of the St. Louis County Counselor. Courtney also clerked for Judge Patricia Cohen while at Missouri Court of Appeals and at the Eastern District of Missouri. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia (Order of the Coif) 2006. She was lead articles editor for the Missouri Law Review.
